  • 4th grade boys and 5/6th grade girls will participate in the newly formed South Suburban Youth Basketball League, which is composed of teams from Farmington, Eastview, and Rosemount. Games will still be played on Saturdays, but teams will either play those teams here in Eagan or travel to those cities to play. Or, you may be playing another Eagan team.
  • We will be using adult certified referees for all of our games.
  • All parents will be required to volunteer to help with our program. There will be lots of different options to choose from that will hopefully suit everyone's needs. A $150 deposit check will be required at the start of the season. Your check will NOT be cashed, unless you fail to fulfill your volunteer duties for the season.
  • Teams will be evened out based on height, years of experience, and skill level in order to ensure teams are not stacked. With more even teams, it's a more enjoyable experience for all teams.
  • The 4th grade boys, 5/6th grade girls, and 5/6th grade boys will participate in a South Suburban Youth Basketball season tournament the weekend of March 8-9, 2019. 4th grade girls will have the option to participate in the MYAS Rec + State Tournament.

New Program for 3rd Graders :: A Taste of Travel

In an effort to ease the transition into the traveling program, Eagan Basketball is proud to offer a new program for our 3rd graders who are looking for a competitive option to help the transition to travel ball in 4th grade.

The new 3rd Grade Taste of Travel program will run from January to March 2019.  The program is in addition to regular in-house season and requires a separate registration.

The fee includes:

  • 1-2, 60-90-minute practices per week
  • 3 sessions at the Minnesota School of Basketball
  • 3 travel tournaments spread throughout January, February, and early March.

This is a highly competitive program, reserved for those players who are serious about continuing to play competitively in future years. There will be a 1-hour evaluation practice to form teams and to make sure this is a good fit in October or November of 2019. If you are unsure if your child would be a good fit for this program, please plan to have a discussion with your coach prior to registering.

The clinics are co-ed, and the kids will be taught the following:

  • Basic concepts and rules of basketball
  • Dribbling
  • Passing
  • Shooting

Most of all, Little Hoopsters is meant to be a fun introduction to the game of basketball! We want them to not only learn about the sport, but also have fun doing so.
